Trust and company

Security software needs administrator rights, so you should know exactly who makes it and what it does. Here is everything you need to check us yourself.

In short
  • Publisher: Salus Alpha Group AG, Liechtenstein, commercial register number FL-0002.391.497-5.
  • Signed installer: every Coinetic file is digitally signed by Salus Alpha Group AG (certificate from Certum, a European certificate authority).
  • Your data stays on your computer: logs, connections, rules and bans are processed locally. Coinetic contacts our server only for the licence, updates, the AI service (if you ask) and anonymous attack counts you can switch off.
  • Built on Windows: Coinetic works through the Windows Firewall that is already there. Nothing is added to the network stack, and uninstalling puts the firewall back as it was.

2. Check the installer yourself

Before you install, you can confirm in under a minute that the file really comes from us and was not changed:

  1. Signature: right-click CoineticSetup.exe › Properties › Digital Signatures. It must say Salus Alpha Group AG, and Details must say "This digital signature is OK", with a timestamp.
  2. Or in PowerShell:
    Get-AuthenticodeSignature .\CoineticSetup.exe | Format-List Status, SignerCertificate
Status must be Valid, and the certificate subject must contain O=Salus Alpha Group AG.
  3. Checksum: the SHA-256 of the current installer is published at coinetic.io/download/CoineticSetup.exe.sha256. Compare it with:
    Get-FileHash .\CoineticSetup.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Automatic updates check the same things: Coinetic only installs an update that comes from coinetic.io, matches the published SHA-256 and is signed by Salus Alpha Group AG. Anything else is refused.

Independent scan: the installer is checked by more than 70 antivirus engines on VirusTotal – 0 detections. You can re-scan the file you downloaded there yourself.
